If the world of enthusiast flashlights were a vehicle race, SureFire wouldn’t be the exotic supercar taking the podium, nor the technologically advanced EV giving everyone a run for their money. No, it would be the 70-ton tank in the back literally creating a lane for itself and reminding people that it’s still a force to be reckoned with. In the modern and highly value-competitive flashlight community SureFire rarely gets a nod anymore, but the EDC1-DFT Turbo reminds us that they’ll always be in the race.

While not the newest, it’s their most recent EDC-sized flashlight, a portable thrower with a crazy 95,000 candela beam throwing out to over 2,000 feet (616 meters). A standard mechanical tail switch controls its High/Low output of 650 and 25 lumens respectively when running on its included and micro USB-rechargeable 18350 battery. SureFire have also long been a proponent of the CR123A platform, and the “DF” in the name stands for Dual Fuel, letting you swap out the 18350 for a standard CR123A lithium primary at a reduced 55kcd/350lm output. Last but not least, if you’ve never handled a SureFire light before, the mil-spec, Hard Anodized Type III treatment on the EDC1-DFT’s aluminum body, like most SureFires, is in a league of its own. A two-way clip rounds out it features, and while the larger 1.258″ head may be tight for most pockets for EDC, it’s worth the space for this compact workhorse.

It features a 1,300-lumen spotlight with a 440-meter range, a 3000-lumen floodlight, and a multicolored side light. Three high CRI Nichia LEDs in the floodlight ensure true color visibility, the lockout mode prevents accidental activation, and the 18W fast Type-C charging fully charges it in 1.6 hours. It also allows quick battery replacement with two included 4000mAh 18650 batteries. The flashlight comes with a magnetic tail cap for hands-free use, is IP68 waterproof, and has an ergonomic design for comfortable handling. You can reserve now for $1 prior to the Kickstarter to get a massive deal on your SK-05 unit at the link below.

Kizer Cormorant

Carrying a pocket knife doesn’t have to be all about business. There’s room for fun folding knife designs like the new Kizer Cormorant. Two main points of consideration stand out for this knife: the Tetris-inspired retro video game design on the G-10 handle scales. The second is the fidgety and fun deployment of the German-made Nitro-V stainless steel blade. There are four ways of opening the knife: the button lock, front flipper, low-profile rear index flipper, and thumb hole. With its smooth pivot and lightswitch action, you can have much fun while completing your tasks with the Kizer Cormorant.

Luminox Heritage Collection

To commemorate its 35th anniversary, Luminox has released three special timepieces, each celebrating the brand’s storied connection with the Navy SEALs. Each piece in this new collection embodies the elements of SEA, AIR, and LAND – three territories where the SEALs operate. The series begins with the Heritage SEA represented by the Navy SEAL Original 3001.H (heritage), a tribute to the original Navy SEAL 3000 with modern enhancements like a stainless-steel bezel, a sapphire crystal, ETA quartz movement, and a red “30” on the bezel, signifying the 30 years since the original watch was launched. The Heritage AIR is represented by the F-117 Nighthawk x Skunk Works 6442.H, inspired by the stealth and innovation of Skunk Works. This piece uniquely features the Skunk Works logo in Super-LumiNova that illuminates at night. Rounding out the series is the Heritage LAND, showcased by the RECON Point Man 8825.H. This watch serves as an advanced navigation tool for military personnel and explorers alike, equipped with cardinal points, a tachymeter, and KM/MI markers.

WaterField Designs Magnetic Cycling iPhone Case

The Magnetic Cycling iPhone Case is a game-changer for riders. The ultra-compact case snugly fits your iPhone and other small ride essentials, all in a jersey pocket. Crafted from waterproof X-Pac laminate, it keeps everything dry whether you’re drenched in sweat or caught in a downpour. It also trades in fussy zippers for a magnetic closure that can be easily operated, even with long-fingered gloves. Available in two sizes to accommodate small and large phones, it’s the sleek, efficient way to carry your gear, especially when you’re on the road.

Gerber Assert – Brooklyn Bell

Things have been quiet at Gerber on the everyday carry knife front lately. They’ve focused on releasing new camp cookware, but with the new Assert folding knife, Gerber’s keen to reenter the scene. We like the choice of American-made S30V on its 2.98″ blade, a marked departure from the brand’s more budget steels lately. There are four different colorways, but our favorite is the limited black and green edition, with a beautiful decoration designed by professional mountain biker Brooklyn Bell featuring the rolling hills of Central Oregon.

GORUCK New GR2

GORUCK has perfected the art of rugged bag design with the New GR2, a ruck inspired by Special Forces’ medical rucks. Made from durable 1000D CORDURA with the recent 210D High Tenacity CORDURA on the back panel and underside of the extra padded shoulder straps and now sporting the latest mainline upgrade, a top quick access pocket, this pack is designed to handle rugged terrain while optimizing comfort. It features a quick access zipper pocket, and YKK zippers with silent, glove-friendly 550 cord pulls. The GR2 is TSA carry-on compliant and offers exceptional organization, with two compartments, six pockets, and four rows of MOLLE webbing for customization. A removable plastic frame sheet stabilizes the laptop compartment for comfortable weight distribution. Available in 26L, 34L, and 40L sizes, each backed by the Scars Lifetime Guarantee, the GR2 is designed to handle the toughest challenges and last a lifetime.

WE Knife Co. Swordfin

The Swordfin is a sleek pocket knife crafted by Thys Meades of Meadesknives, renowned for his handmade high-end knives. This model features a tanto blade and a distinctive handle, bringing a modern twist to his traditional craftsmanship. WE Knife has perfectly translated Meades’ artistry into a production piece that’s as stunning as his handmade creations. Made from CPM 20CV steel, the blade transitions seamlessly into a luxurious handle adorned with carbon fiber and intricately layered aluminum accents. It’s a knife that’s not just functional but a piece of art.

Marathon Arctic Red Maple GSAR 41mm

Marathon’s 41mm Arctic Red Maple Edition Large Diver’s Automatic is a Government Search and Rescue (GSAR) watch designed to handle any terrain or situation. Its stark white dial was specially chosen to increase legibility in bright environments, while its durable 41mm 316L stainless steel case gives it a robust look on the wrist, enhanced by a unidirectional bezel with a 60-minute scale. For low-light conditions, the Arctic Red Maple GSAR is equipped with tritium gas tubes on all hour markers and the full hand set, including an orange tritium marker at the 12 o’clock position and a MaraGlo bezel pip for easy orientation. Rated at 30ATM, this watch is built to withstand depths of up to 300 meters (1000 feet), making it a trustworthy companion for recreational or professional divers alike. To complete the package, the watch comes with a 3-Piece Rubber Strap Kit, crafted from FKM Rubber in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. This kit includes a tail piece with 8 adjustment holes and two buckle pieces of different sizes to ensure a perfect fit for any wrist size, meeting the high-performance requirements of military applications.

Victorinox Farmer X Alox Damast Limited Edition 2024

If you want to stand out from the pack, it’s always a good idea to check the limited editions regularly put out by Victorinox. Take the new Farmer X Alox Damast Limited Edition, for example, which builds an elegant black and steel tone knife with an added touch of brilliance and a Damasteel folding blade.

The Farmer X Alox Damast Limited Edition takes the rugged and useful design of the Farmer X, with its serrated saw blade and screwdrivers, and elevates it with the Alox metal scales (with a color exclusively for 2024), which add additional durability and grip to the Swiss Army Knife. But the true star of the show is the 115-layer Damasteel blade that has a unique Hakkapella pattern with a hardness grade of 60 HRC, making it tougher than the standard SAK. What you get is a blade that looks as sharp as it can cut and a premium feel that’s a cut above the standard Farmer X, making it a great choice if you’re looking to add to your daily rotation. It’s limited to 7,000 sequentially numbered pieces worldwide so don’t wait too long if you want to get it.

NESTOUT Rugged Power Banks

NESTOUT is a sub-brand of popular Japanese consumer electronics maker ELECOM, and their Rugged Outdoor Power Bank 15000mAh is uniquely designed with durability in mind, boasting dustproof, shock-resistant, and waterproof features to withstand the toughest environments. Weighing just 0.8 pounds and looking like military canteens and canisters, it’s incredibly portable and features three charging ports (2 x USB-A and 1 x USB-C) capable of delivering 32W of power. It can also act as a temporary charging hub so you can charge your devices and the battery simultaneously. Its modular design enhances its compatibility with NESTOUT’s custom-fit accessories, offering you a seamless and versatile ecosystem to keep your gear powered up wherever you go.

Additional power bank sizes are available as well, including 10000mAh and 5000mAh versions, each providing the same rugged reliability in a more compact form. NESTOUT also has attachable light accessories like the FLASH-1 and LAMP-1, which are perfect for illuminating your surrounding area. If you’re outdoors and need to recharge, NESTOUT’s solar chargers come in two- and four-panel options, generating up to 28W of solar power to keep your devices charged using the power of the sun. At the time of this publication, NESTOUT is offering various discounts on these power banks and their accessories so check it out.

The James Brand The Chapter 2 – Exclusive

A decade ago, The James Brand was launched with the release of the Chapter pocket knife, making waves in the EDC community and setting a new standard for pocket knife design and functionality. Building on the design of the original knife in an exclusive collaboration with Huckberry, TJB presents a redesigned Chapter 2 Pocket Knife in striking black and outdoor orange accents that serve both style and utility.

This Chapter 2 exclusive features a high-quality S35VN stainless steel blade, known for its exceptional durability and sharpness, and a lightweight titanium handle. At 6.45” in length, it strikes the perfect balance for everyday carry. Notable upgrades include a subtle curvature in the blade for precise cutting, a tip-up carry orientation for quicker access, and a fully machined titanium pocket clip for secure and convenient storage. The knife’s smooth folding mechanism ensures safe and effortless handling, while the Huckberry co-branded label adds a unique touch. The Chapter 2 pocket knife embodies a decade of TJB’s evolution, and seeing how far the brand has come in the past decade, we are beyond excited to see what the next decade holds.

Wuben X2Pro

Wuben has once again raised the bar with the X2Pro, a significant upgrade to their popular X2 model, designed to meet the needs of both outdoor enthusiasts and everyday users. This compact flashlight sports an impressive dual-mode main light featuring four LED groups that deliver an impressive 1,500 lumens. Its innovative composite lens system combines spotlight and floodlight capabilities, controlled by an intuitive rotary switch, ensuring you have the right type of illumination for any situation, and the included 400-lumen RGB side light further enhances the functionality of this flashlight, making it suitable for emergency signaling and navigation.

Crafted from high-quality materials, the X2Pro boasts a durable, ergonomic design. This flashlight is powered by replaceable 14500 batteries, with a unique parallel design that allows it to operate optimally, even with just one battery, ensuring you have light when you need it. It has two mechanical buttons—a toggle switch and rotary knob— for reliable, intuitive operation, a magnetic tail base for hands-free use, and compatibility with an ARC Guide Rail Buckle for helmet-mounting, perfect for industrial workers, firefighters, and outdoor enthusiasts. This flashlight also features an adjustable 20-degree tilt for optimal lighting angles and a robust back clip for portability. With Type-C fast charging and compatibility with AA batteries for flexibility, the Wuben X2Pro is a compact, reliable, and powerful tool, perfect for everyday carry, outdoor adventures, and tactical missions.

Thanks to an already funded and massively successful campaign, backers now also have the option to choose between RGB or a new 365nm, 2W UV option for the auxiliary side light, while still maintaining the original price of $39.99. There’s still plenty of time to back this extremely affordable but fully-packed flashlight, so check out the ongoing Kickstarter campaign at the link below.

CRKT Nucleus Frame Lock Knife

CPM MagnaCut is one of the most sought-after steels for EDC enthusiasts who demand the best out of their pocket knives, and CRKT incorporates it beautifully in their Nucleus Frame Lock Knife. Designed by custom knifemaker Princeton Wong, the Nucleus is inspired by the mecha robots from the Mobile Suit Gundam series, which is reflected in the knife’s futuristic design. The Nucleus weighs only 2.30 oz thanks partly to its titanium and carbon fiber handle, making it both strong and lightweight. It can be easily deployed in three different ways – using the front flipper, rear flipper, or the finger hole in the blade – thanks to its smooth IKBS ball-bearing pivot.

Besides its eye-catching aesthetics; the Nucleus is built for serious performance. Its frame lock utilizes a thick lock bar to ensure that the blade remains secure during rigorous use. The 3.23” blade, crafted from MagnaCut steel, offers best-in-class performance with exceptional toughness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. The blade’s stonewashed finish and distinctive milling, along with the drilled holes for added flair, make this knife stand out in any collection. Available in additional material options such as 12C27 steel with a stainless steel handle and G10 overlay, the Nucleus caters to various preferences while maintaining its attractive design and functionality.

Skullcandy The Active Collection

Skullcandy’s active collection of sports earbuds is designed to endure sweat, water, dust, dirt, and the inevitable rough treatment that comes with an active lifestyle. The collection features three robust players: the Push ANC Active, Sesh ANC Active, and Push Play Active. Each earbud is crafted to meet the specific needs and budget of athletes and adventurers alike.

The Push ANC Active were designed for those who don’t hold back. These earbuds come with every feature you need, including comfortable, low-profile ear hangers, fully waterproof construction, adjustable Stay-Aware Mode, and 4-Mic Active Noise Canceling to keep you focused and in the zone. With 58 hours of total battery life and rapid charge capabilities, they are built to last through the longest workouts.

The Sesh ANC Active comes with a total battery life of 48 hours and fully waterproof construction, these earbuds are designed for all-day use. The Fit Grip design keeps them securely in place, whether you’re at home or on the move. Adjustable 4-Mic Active Noise Canceling helps you stay in the zone, and features like Google Fast Pair, multipoint pairing, and Spotify Tap enhance your experience when you’re not on the go. The Sesh ANC Active earbuds adapt seamlessly from high-energy activities to relaxation, making them the most versatile choice for those who do it all.

The Push Play Active earbuds cater to any active lifestyle, in any weather and any condition. They boast 34 hours of playtime and rapid charge, ensuring they keep up with you. With secure, low-profile ear hangers and an IP55 water and dust-resistant rating, these earbuds are built for durability. They handle sweat, rain, dusty trails, and occasional falls with ease. Flexible over-ear hangers ensure a comfortable fit, no matter how intense the session.

WE Knife Zizzit

Modern high-end knife designs all tend to feature premium durable steels hardened for excellent cutting potential and maximum sharpness. Their blade shapes are both an aesthetic and functional choice because they are one of the primary determinants of the overall ergonomic ease of use for the pocket knife. But designs that take the time to feature a compound edge on the blade itself are relatively rare. The new WE Knife ZIzzit flipper knife adds to this select few, with a special CPM-20CV blade that’s been optimized for your everyday carry needs.

Where most blades feature one style of blade grind, the We Knife Zizzit features a compound edge, with a hollow-ground belly and a flat ground tip for the blade. The combination drop point and spear point edge blade is a result of this design choice, which gives the belly increased slicing capability while enhancing the piercing performance and rigidity of the tip of the knife. The flat grind of the tip also makes it easier to touch up and repair independently in case of damage during regular use. With a 3.8” overall length, sturdy button lock, and titanium hardware, you’re going to find a lot of use for the We Knife Zizzit when you add it to your everyday carry loadout.

This week’s new releases include a milestone G-SHOCK, Vosteed’s upgraded Hedgehog, and RovyVon’s advanced SL series flashlight.

G-SHOCK GMWB5000SS-2 50th Anniversary Release

The watch industry changed forever in 1974 when Casio released its first-ever wristwatch, the Casiotron. As the world’s first digital watch with an automatic calendar function, the Casiotron represented a ground-breaking shift in the industry, introducing digital technology into the realm of personal timekeeping. 50 years later, Casio celebrates its roots by releasing a set of models that pay homage to several Casio icons, one of them being the G-SHOCK GMWB5000SS-2. Inspired by the iconic GMWB5000 (which was in turn inspired by the very first G-SHOCK), the G-SHOCK GMWB5000SS-2 retains the original G-SHOCK form but elevates it with a full-metal exterior. Design elements such as the blue IP finish applied to the bezel top and gold vapor deposition on the dial’s perimeter pay homage to the original Casiotron while symbolizing the vastness of the sky and sea. Gold IP accents on the side buttons and the fluted pattern on the dial’s perimeter are also great details to notice.

The GMWB5000SS-2 boasts a robust suite of features that make it every bit a modern G-SHOCK. It connects to the CASIO WATCHES smartphone app for functions such as automatic time adjustment, reminders, and a phone finder, while maintaining all the usual G-SHOCK functions, easily viewed even with low light thanks to its Super Illuminator backlight. The watch is encased in special eco-packaging made from recycled materials and includes a cotton pouch for accessory storage, underlining Casio’s commitment to sustainability. It harnesses solar power to operate its functionalities, including Bluetooth connectivity and radio-controlled timekeeping (Multiband 6), ensuring precision and reliability. The DLC-coated screw-lock case back, engraved with the 50th-anniversary logo, coupled with its metal band featuring a bicolor finish and a “50th Anniversary” engraving, make this timepiece a true testament to the G-SHOCK’s longevity and iconic position in the industry.

Tactile Knife Co. Osprey

Some of the coolest and classiest gents folding knives have come out of Tactile Knife Company as they’ve expanded past making some of the best everyday carry pens you can buy today. With the release of their new Osprey, Tactile has entered new territory once again, and we like it. The Osprey is Tactile’s first dedicated fixed-blade outdoor knife, with an incredibly beefy full-tang construction featuring MagnaCut steel hardened to 63-64 Rockwell for the ultimate in modern cutting potential and edge retention.

The design language of the Osprey melds the shape of a rugged outdoor survival knife with the clean and minimalist gents’ aesthetic of Tactile Knife Company’s products. The 3.7” cutting blade features a clip-point shape with a well-defined tip for piercing and a slightly recurved belly that enhances its slicing ability. Last but not least, the small but pronounced patch of top jimping works in concert with the carefully shaped and chamfered ergonomic grip in the Richlite Micarta scales to provide substantial control over cuts big and small. The Osprey is the beefiest knife in Tactile’s stable yet, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

RovyVon SL Series Multi-Function Safety Light

Renowned for their innovative lighting solutions, RovyVon takes illumination to the next level with the newly released SL series. This multi-function safety light packs a powerful punch with its 20 LED bulbs. The primary front light delivers up to 1000 lumens of cool white light, perfect for outdoor nighttime activities, while the secondary lights offer a high Color Rendering Index (high CRI), red light SL42 and SL44), and two 365nm UV LEDs (SL41 & SL43), catering to various lighting needs. The side lights, available in white and red (some models include blue), feature multiple modes like flashing and breathing, making them ideal for emergency use.

The RovyVon SL series is built tough, sporting a body made from high-quality polyamide materials with an impressive IPX8 impact and water resistance rating that keeps it functional, even in harsh conditions. This light comes with four independent switch buttons for simple and intuitive operation, a large 2500mAh battery that recharges in 1.5 hours via the USB-C, and a real-time battery indicator. It also comes with versatile mounting options, including detachable and adjustable clips, a magnetic base, and various clip types, ensuring easy and secure hands-free attachment in any location. So, whether for EDC, emergencies, or outdoor adventures, the RovyVon SL series multi-function safety light is designed to meet all your needs.

Vosteed Hedgehog Aluminum

We’re big fans of Vosteed’s RSKAOS Titanium Knife and the recently released Vosteed Hedgehog is a smaller, lighter, and more affordable iteration of the premium folder. Needless to say, we love it already. Sporting a 2.99″ S35VN blade, the Vosteed Hedgehog promises exceptional edge retention and corrosion resistance. Its modified sheepsfoot blade shape with a lightly curved belly makes it perfect for slicing and cutting tasks. With an overall length of 7.11″, a handle length of 4.12″, and a weight of just 4.42 oz, it’s compact enough to leave plenty of room for other essentials in your pocket when closed.

It recently underwent an upgrade, and the new Hedgehog’s handle is crafted from 6061 aerospace-grade aluminum, featuring a hard-coated matte finish and a CNC-machined frag pattern that provides both enhanced control and attractive styling. The design includes precisely machined weight relief pockets to minimize user fatigue, along with double CNC chamfered corners for added comfort. It has several deployment options, including a back flipper, thumb stud, and fuller, all supported by a ceramic ball bearing system and a Top Liner Lock mechanism with an integrated button for intuitive closure. The result is a smooth, quick, and safe operation that makes the Hedgehog not only a practical tool but one that’s also tons of fun to use.

Stabby Labs The FN PEN 2.0

Designed to be the most robust writing tool in your EDC, the FN Pen 2.0 retains the sleek, discreet design of its predecessor but boasts new features that make it the ultimate tactical pen. Made from CNC-machined aircraft-grade aluminum, this pen is built to last. Its standout feature is the threaded bore, allowing for interchangeable tips. Whether you need the Penetrator Tip for metal scribing and ice breaking, the Graphite Pencil Tip for writing and sketching, or the Glass Breaker Tip for shattering tempered glass, the FN Pen 2.0 adapts to your needs.

Additional upgrades include a rubber eraser that cushions your thumb during strikes and doubles as a pencil eraser. The new custom-shaped magnet embedded in the eraser cap snaps perfectly over the tungsten carbide tip, providing a satisfying fidgeting experience and ensuring you never misplace the tip. With its enhanced versatility and thoughtful design, the FN Pen 2.0 is the ultimate tool for any situation.

Kizer Harpoon Mini

If you’re looking for a knife to take with you on your outdoor excursions this summer, make sure to take the newly updated Kizer Harpoon Mini. Made in collaboration with Maverick Customs in Kentucky, this smaller 3” version of their original Harpoon fixed-blade knife upgrades the blade steel to premium CPM 3V that can withstand outdoors, camping, and survival utility tasks like cutting through wood and tough material. The namesake harpoon-style blade shape has a well-defined point for piercing tasks, and a large curved belly for slicing, making this a good knife for skinning and meal prep in the wilderness.

We especially like the flat ground edge of the blade and the lack of a bolster at the heel, making the Kizer Harpoon Mini exceptionally easy to resharpen and maintain on a whetstone. The blacked-out coating also contrasts nicely with the yellow translucent PEI scales on the handle, which is on trend in the everyday carry knife space. The full-tang construction and sheath mean this knife is always ready for work, with no moving parts to fail, making this a great all-around fixed blade for everyday carry to pick up this summer.

A game-changing titanium hatchet, a powerhouse flashlight, versatile backpacks, and cutting-edge knives that are sure to impress.

Exceed Designs HYZER Titanium Hatchet

If you love the outdoors, then a good hatchet is a helpful companion to have with you. It’s a versatile tool that can handle various outdoor tasks, from splitting kindling, driving tent stakes, or breaking up ice blocks. The HYZER Titanium Hatchet from Exceed Designs isn’t your ordinary hatchet and stands out as one of the lightest and most customizable modular head hatchets on the market. Perfect for camping, backpacking, and hard use, it boasts an impressive strength-to-weight ratio by utilizing 6AL-4V Grade-5 Titanium on either mini or full-length handles, known for its vibration-dampening properties also seen in premium hammers. With multiple D2 steel head weight options and optional PVD axe head coating and DLC dark grey coating, you can easily swap or replace your hatchet head depending on the task at hand. You can add an optional custom Paracord wrap for a more comfortable grip. Custom scales are in the works as well, and are expected to come in 2024-25.

Imalent BL50

While Imalent is most popular for making high-performance flashlights like the MS32 (the world’s current brightest flashlight), they also make smaller and equally powerful EDC-style flashlights like the Imalent BL50. This feature-packed EDC flashlight boasts a dual light source design that delivers a powerful 3600-lumen output that throws over a distance of 428 m, powered by a Cree XHP50.3 HI LED and a 365nm UV LED, which is perfect for detecting things that may be hidden from the ordinary eye.

This powerhouse comes in a compact, ergonomically designed body built from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, with a wear-resistant Type-III matte hard-anodized surface treatment that gives it a rugged, high-quality feel. It is powered by a built-in Type-C rechargeable 3000mAh high-capacity battery and offers six brightness levels (ranging from 5 Lumens to 2000 Lumens), easily toggled by the tail switch. The BL50 also features a smart OLED display that enhances user experience by providing real-time battery status, brightness level, and runtime information, and a built-in thermal control module that automatically adjusts the brightness output according to the working status and outer temperature. Imalent combines advanced technology, durability, and impressive performance in the BL50 flashlight, and if you’re looking for a high-performance EDC flashlight, you might want to check this one out.

Huckberry x GORUCK Heritage Kit Bag 32L – Exclusive in Charcoal

The Huckberry x GORUCK Heritage Kit Bag 32L in an exclusive Charcoal colorway is set to become your go-to bag for this summer’s adventures. This retro aviator-style bag draws inspiration from the robust design of the rugged bags used in Airborne flight operations and is crafted from handsome and resilient 10 1⁄8 oz army duck canvas, featuring a Martexin wax finish that has stood the test of time for over 170 years.

With a spacious 32L capacity perfectly sized to meet TSA carry-on requirements, the Huckberry x GORUCK Heritage Kit Bag is ideal for weekend getaways or multi-adventure trips. It features two external pockets and three interior zipper pockets, ensuring optimal organization for your gear. It also opens wide, allowing for easy access during packing and travel. This Huckberry exclusive features a brown leather GORUCK spearhead patch for a touch of sophistication and comes backed by GORUCK’s SCARS lifetime guarantee for years of reliable use. The Heritage Kit Bag 32L in charcoal reflects both brands’ dedication to quality design and craftsmanship, and with its impressive features and durable build, this bag promises to be a worthwhile buy this season.

Kansept Cassowary

If you’re unfamiliar with the namesake of this knife, a cassowary is a large, brightly-colored, beautiful, flightless bird. It’s also one of the most dangerous wild animals you can encounter. The Kansept Cassowary folding knife isn’t a bird, and it’s also not harmful so long as you maintain it and use it safely. But with its richly decorated titanium handle and gorgeous multilayered Damascus steel blade, this centerpiece knife will be the star of your everyday carry loadout.

Made in collaboration with Justin Koch from Koch Tools, the Kansept Cassowary’s sleek 2.9” clip-point blade features a compound grind that maximizes the blade’s performance in cutting, slicing, and piercing tasks. With its flipper index opening and smooth ceramic ball bearing action, it’s also an extremely quick knife to deploy and get into action, making this a knife that’s a pleasure to look at and use every day.

Mystery Ranch Market and Supermarket Backpacks

Known for creating top-tier backpacks, Mystery Ranch’s renowned know-how is reflected in the construction and functionality of their Super Market and Market carryall totes. The Super Market is a versatile 21.9L carryall companion that effortlessly transitions from a backpack to a tote – perfect for a day spent working at your favorite coffee shop or an evening exploring the town. It has a padded laptop sleeve for devices up to 15”, an interior water bottle pocket, and two spacious exterior zippered pockets. Its dual main compartment closure, foam back panel, and shaped padded shoulder pads provide comfort and support, making it the ideal choice for those who demand both function and durability in their daily carry.

On the other hand, the Market bag offers a slightly scaled-down, more portable option while maintaining the same clean design and essential features. Designed for maximum portability, it transitions between a backpack and a tote bag just like the larger Super Market, making it ideal for quick trips to the farmer’s market or a relaxing afternoon at the dog park. With an interior zippered pocket, a water bottle sleeve, and a large exterior zippered pocket, the Market bag boasts all the necessary compartments to keep your belongings organized. Its 17.7L volume and foam back panel ensure your comfort throughout the day. Both bags are constructed with 100% textured polyester exteriors, water-resistant 210 high-tenacity nylon liners, and YKK zippers, embodying the robust design principles Mystery Ranch is known for. Whether you choose the Super Market or the Market, you’ll be equipped with a reliable and stylish companion for all your daily adventures.

Vosteed Acorn

We are spoiled for choice when picking an everyday carry knife, but if you’re on a budget, you no longer have to make substantial compromises in the process. Knives like the Vosteed Acorn are designed to provide excellent materials, build quality, and thoughtful design at an accessible price. Take the front flipper opening on the blade, which can be easily overlooked if you focus only on the ambidextrous eye hole openings cut into it. That’s a design element that was once only found on high-end minimalist knives years ago, and its inclusion on the Acorn gives you extra options for using the knife in your daily tasks.

And while 14C28N can’t be described as a “super” steel, it’s a quality blade-making material that provides the kind of sharpness, durability, and edge retention you’ll need for a daily driver knife. The more down-to-earth canvas micarta handles may not exude the opulence of inlaid blades, but at the end of the day, you get a quality knife that you won’t be too afraid of getting scuffed up in actual use.

The small yet powerful i3T EOS is able to output an impressive 180 lumens for over 20 minutes with its Philips Luxeon TX emitter, all on a single regular AAA alkaline battery. Its rubber-coated forward-clicky tailswitch allows you to switch between its two output levels—5 and 180 lumens—while also providing momentary on for when you need a quick burst of light. An IPX-8 rated anodized aluminum body keeps the weight low at 1.45 ounces, while featuring helix-styled body cutouts that gives a distinct Olight look while still providing grip. The included two-way clip keeps this light easy to carry in a pocket, attached to a bag, or clipped onto a hat brim for hands-free operation.

The Fenix LD02 V2.0 makes a strong case for a specialized EDC light with its refined design and unique LED combination. It carries both a warm white high-CRI Cree XQ-E HI emitter and a 365nM UV light. The former is for general use, and can be adjusted via tailswitch to 70 lumens for high, 25 lumens for medium, and a runtime-friendly 1 lumen for low that runs for 75 hours off a single AAA battery. The UV light is useful for checking counterfeit currency marks or medically dangerous substances. An anodized aluminum body is paired with a stainless steel bezel, clip, and push button assembly to provide IP68-level protection and create a premium feel in hand.

The Foursevens Preon P1 MKIII is one of the most refined AAA lights you can buy. A very high CRI (92+) is achieved by using a Nichia 219C emitter, providing a sunlight-like beam with great color rendering, maxing out at 100 lumens. The IPX-8 rated aluminum chassis features machined ridges on the ends and a tapered mid barrel, that, combined with a beefed-up stainless steel clip, ensures great pocket retention and better ergonomics than previous iterations. The programmable UI lets you pick from six different configurations to access 7 different modes, including a 1 lumen moonlight mode, SOS and a 30-second burst.

The only light in this list that comes in an L-shaped, right angle format, the Manker E02 Ti is a versatile light that combines its form factor with a reversible clip and magnetic tailcap. It offers multiple carry and usage options, including acting as a small but powerful headlamp. For the LED, you have a choice of a high-output Cree XP-G3 for 220 lumens of maximum output, or a high-CRI Nichia 219C at 180 lumens. A top-mounted button allows you to cycle through its five modes, including a 0.6-lumen Moonlight mode. This version’s titanium body is rated to IPX-6 water resistance, and comes in natural or black stonewashed finish.

At just 72mm long and 15 grams without a battery, the compact and lightweight Sofirn C01S features a TIR optic to enhance illumination, and a 95-CRI Luminus SST20 emitter for great color rendition. A twist-type interface turns this light on at the high 100-lumen setting first, and quick twists back off an on again gives you a 3 lumen moonlight mode. Knurling on the head and shaft makes operating the C01S easy, while a reversible clip lets you carry this bezel-down or bezel-up in your pocket, or turn it into a hat light. The notched tailcap gives you options to attach a magnet, a tritium tube, or the included split ring for keychain carry. This small yet versatile light comes in different anodized body colors as well.

Most people, especially in the medical community, will be familiar with the classic penlight. The Nitecore MT06MD, while designed for first responders and medical professionals, makes for a great EDC light for those looking to be prepared for anything. Powered by two AAA bateries, the Nichia 219B LED hits a maximum of 180 lumens, while a smooth and optimized reflector ensures a uniform and clear bright spot. The tailcap switch cycles through three different output levels, and the default Low mode at 4 lumens, combined with a tint that eliminates the blue-light hazard, is perfect for pupil inspection. A stainless steel clip paired with an IPX-8 rated aluminum body helps keep this light handy and ready for duty.

The latest iteration of Maratac’s miniature EDC light features a new cool white Cree G3 emitter that pushes out 180 lumens on a regular AAA battery. A twisty interface gives access to 3 levels of brightness, while a polished aluminum orange peel reflector, combined with a new AR-coated lens, keeps a clean and uniform beam that’s good for near to medium distances. Every specimen is hand-finished, and a factory-installed clip ensures that the finish is even and doesn’t come scratched when new. That’s because with a chassis machined from solid copper billet, the new REV 6 develops patina with use, giving you a light that builds character over time.

There’s a reason the Streamlight Microstream is one of the most popular flashlights on this site. It’s simple, reliable, effective, and most importantly, inexpensive. Sometimes you just need something that works, and even if it’s low on the lumens the Microstream makes them count. And with a lightweight, anodized aluminum body and pocket clip, it’s easy to EDC in your pocket or on your bag as a backup.

300 lumens is a specification reserved for much bigger flashlights, not one you would expect out of something that takes an AAA battery. But that’s exactly what the SureFire Titan Plus is capable of. Along with that beefy output is equally-tough construction in nickel-plated brass and plenty of options for everyday carry, including a split ring, removable pocket clip, and a quick-detach tailcap that lets you deploy the light with ease. Not bad for something only 3.375” long and weighing 2 ounces!

The “D” series of lights from EAGTAC have distinguished themselves as excellent performers in the compact light arena. The Limited Edition D3A MkII Titanium elevates the line by giving one of their bestsellers a refined and robust titanium shell. Inside, an A750 RC LED Driver combines with a warm-tinted Nichia 219C emitter to provide up to 353 lumens of eye-pleasing light. The D3A’s ability to take on both regular AAs and 14500s gives you flexibility for its power source. Its four modes are accessed via both a twist interface and a glow in the dark tail switch. If you’re looking for something more compact, the EAGTAC D3C is essentially the same light, but utilizes CR123A or protected RCR123 button-tops in its shorter chassis.

CJRB’s upgraded Bowie Pyrite steals the spotlight in this week’s new releases, along with a voice-activated headlamp, sleek pen, and stylish messenger bag.

The New S90V Pyrite Is CJRB’s Best Yet

We previously featured the CJRB Bowie Pyrite folding knife from Artisan Cutlery back when it used their proprietary AR-RPM9 steel for the blade, and we’ve been paying close attention ever since. They’ve taken things a step higher with this new release, now featuring a blade forged from CPM S90V. This premium steel is renowned for its exceptional wear resistance, promising longevity and reliability in every use. The CJRB Bowie Pyrite features a robust button-lock mechanism complemented by grippy thumb studs, making it effortlessly fidget-friendly. Its non-reversible deep carry titanium pocket clip ensures secure storage, with its smooth edges and carefully calculated stiffness providing optimal comfort and accessibility. The Bowie-type clip-point blade enhances versatility, a hallmark of survival knives, ensuring the CJRB Bowie Pyrite is ready for any challenge.

The new lightweight titanium handle adds a touch of elegance and completes the elite ensemble, making this the best version of the Pyrite yet.

COAST’s Voice Activated RL35R Headlamp Takes “Hands-Free” to the Next Level

COAST takes “hands-free” illumination to the next level with their latest headlamp, the RL35R. You get two main LEDs—one for spot and one for flood—which can be used independently or combined for up to 1,100 lumens of output. There are green and blue LEDs for preserving night vision and map reading, as well as for identification and inspection. Surrounding the LED array is the “ARC280°” area light system which contains diffused warm and red LEDs for even more utility. That’s already plenty useful for a headlamp, but the RL35R takes it to the next level with its ability to recognize voice commands. While it does have a full set of controls up top, when activated, the headlamp can recognize commands like “COAST ARC” or “COAST RED” to enable whichever illumination is needed, without needing your hands to fiddle with switches or lose their grip on an important task. It’s an unprecedented feature we didn’t even realize would be so useful, but it makes perfect sense.

The RL35R is all business up front but rounds out its features on the back, which houses a rear safety signal as well as its rechargeable ZX850 (18650) Li-ion battery, along with a convenient USB-C charging port on both the light and the battery itself. With IP54 dust and water resistance, the RL35R is ready for the next adventure, and we’re definitely COAST ON board for what the brand has in store next.

Wuben Releases the T4 Tactical Flashlight With Practical EDC Features

We’ve had our eyes on Wuben for a while now, and they’ve had a number of unique designs and impressive releases that set them apart from the rest of their flashlight peers. The new Wuben T4 goes back to basics as a compact tactical flashlight, delivering an impressive 850 lumens from its OSRAM KW CSLPM1.TG (6500K) LED to illuminate objects up to 1,315 feet away. Its premium aluminum construction, available in two alloys/finishes (natural in 7075, black in 6061) ensures it can handle the demanding tasks it was designed for.

It comes with a couple of features that reinforce its functionality, first of which you’ll probably notice is the serious tactical grip clip in these images. it’s designed to give a full-handed, secure grip around the light, centered around a pointy glass breaker tip. The T4 also offers three operational modes—Tactical, Duty, and Lockout— each enabled with a unique magnetic tail-cap mechanism for intuitive operation. No more having to navigate multi-button press menus to configure modes; the T4 is ready for duty from a quick, tactile action, and a proud tail switch makes it easy to activate even while gloved. The light comes with a regular clip in Wuben’s signature blue that can sit alongside the tactical grip for regular EDC as well.

The Wuben T4 is powered by a high-capacity 1100mAh 18350 battery for increased voltage/output and prolonged use. Onboard charging is available via an embedded Type-C charging port protected by a rotating ring, ensuring convenient and secure charging while safeguarding against water, dust, and impact damage. It’s IP68 dust and waterproof, able to survive drops up to 1.5 meters, making it a reliable tool for law enforcement, outdoor enthusiasts, EDCers, and anyone who needs a powerful and dependable tactical flashlight without breaking the bank.

The CRKT Provoke Grivory Is a Lighter Addition to the Morphing Karambit Family

In a year teeming with impressive knife releases, CRKT shakes things up with the Provoke Grivory, designed by genius knife maker Joe Caswell. This knife takes inspiration from CRKT’s classic karambit folding knives, known for their distinctive finger ring for enhanced grip and the futuristic Kinematic technology—a unique innovation that allows you to deploy the blade with the push of your thumb, eliminating the need for a traditional thumb stud or flipper.

Similar to its brothers, the CRKT Provoke Grivory sports a compact design, with an overall length of 7.19” when open and 4.96” when folded, ensuring convenient carry. It boasts a high carbon 2.47” claw-shaped stainless steel blade with a black stonewashed finish that offers excellent edge retention and scratch resistance. This new model’s handle is injection-molded from Grivory—a lightweight yet incredibly strong thermoplastic that guarantees durability. It also comes in 4 color options—Blue, Orange, Zap, and Red—all easy to spot in any condition, and features a low-profile, spring-loaded pocket clip that rests against the finger ring for a secure and discreet carry. The Provoke Grivory one-ups most iterations of the karambit, reminding us why we love CRKT, and if you like unique pieces, the Provoke Grivory is for you.

The commemorative 50ᵀᴴ Anniversary emblem stands proudly on the pack, which will be appreciated by both diehard fans and casual collectors alike. The J-zip large front panel provides easy access to the main compartment, complemented by a quick-release aluminum security hook on the harness for added convenience. The stretch power mesh shoulder strap sleeve is perfect for transporting cards or small items, while a large zippered front panel pocket offers scratch-free storage for more delicate gear. A low-profile stretch water bottle side pocket adds to the practicality, making this backpack an ideal choice for those seeking durability and efficiency in their daily adventures.

The Arcane series has been one of our favorites from Osprey as a more EDC-focused line compared to their signature hiking packs, and the Large Day is an underrated daypack option. We couldn’t be more pleased to have it be the flagship for the brand’s 50th anniversary.

The Kansept Little Main Street’s Small Size Hides Its Big and Bright Capabilities

Kansept’s knives have found themselves in more than a few of our “Best Knives” lists, so all eyes are on the recently unveiled Little Main Street. We’ve seen different iterations of the Main Street before, and this super compact addition with its closed length of 3.08″ and 2.26″ 154CM reverse tanto blade continues to bring together excellent materials and functionality. The blade deploys via dual thumbstuds on ceramic ball bearings, making it a snappy slicer for your fifth pocket or backup EDC.

The highlight of this compact version is its bright yellow PEI handle, chamfered for a comfortable grip and housing a crossbar lock for ambidextrous usability. There’s a reason it’s a popular option in today’s EDC gear, offering rigidity and durability while staying light, while also offering a distinctly high-visibility colorway that’s a standout addition to any loadout.

Twice as Fun: ADPT Series 1 Dual-Time Keeps You on Track With Twin GMT Watches

The ADPT Series 1 Dual-Time is a vibrant and affordable follow-up to the brand’s Series 1 release. The 120-click uni-directional bezel—fully indexed with both a standard minute track and cardinal points—and anodized aluminum inserts illustrating day and night add a layer of practicality and visual appeal.

Housed in a lightweight titanium case, the watch is comfortable for all-day wear and boasts an impressive 200M water resistance, making it versatile for various activities. A 38mm case diameter and 44mm lug-to-lug make it perfectly sized for wrists of all ages and types. Each watch also comes with a matching ADPT River Stone carrying case, wrapped in durable rip-stop nylon with high-contrast zippers and an anodized aluminum carabiner, underscoring its adventurous aesthetic. This watch is a must-have for those who appreciate a blend of style, durability, and practicality.

A capable carry-on, featherlight knife, feature-rich flashlight and more in this week’s exciting gear roundup.

Aer Completes Their Travel Lineup With a New Pair of Carry-on Companions

With dozens of bags covering every aspect of everyday carry and travel, it’s been a long time coming for Aer to kick off their luggage collection. The first models to hit the ground rolling are the Carry-On and the Carry-On Small, with the former being slightly larger to fit more of your flight essentials while still able to accommodate most airline carry-on size restrictions.

Both suitcases come with the sleek, minimal design language Aer is known for, with a tonal color scheme across the five colorways (Black, Dark Olive, Fog White, Pale Mauve, and Safety Orange) and a simple wordmark logo front and center, which first made its appearance on the 2023 Pro Collection. The exterior is built in premium Makrolon polycarbonate hard shell to give it best in class durability, and four-rolls on Hinomoto miraclent ball bearing wheels for smooth and silent traversal. Unique to these suitcases is a four-height triangular trolly system for customizable comfort while on the move, and a Hinomoto wheel brake system that prevents the bag from wandering away, especially in a busy concourse.

Opening up the extra-durable and gapless YKK RCW zippers gives access to the 48L interior (41L in the Small), lined with CORDURA re/cor recycled nylon ripstop and divided into two compartments: a standard left zippered section, and a right one with a paneled compression system that comes with a magnetic FIDLOCK fastener.

The regular Aer Carry-On released last May 13th, and while Aer have tested it against most major airlines’ bag sizers, there were concerns that its 22.7″ x 15″ x 9″ dimensions were at the upper limit of carry-on restrictions. This prompted the immediate follow-up of the Carry-On Small, originally a Japan domestic launch model whose 21.7″ x 14″ x 9″ (41L) size and lower price offered a suitcase that was both within spec and within more means. The Carry-On Small only comes in black with limited stocks for the moment, but Aer have assured more are on the way.

Whether it’s your first foray into Aer’s carry collective or finally completing the last piece of your own travel collection, Aer’s new carry-on options are ready to roll out.

The Montana Knife Company Mini-Speedgoat Is a Knockout Knife Punching Way Above Its Weight

Hands-on review by Mikey Bautista, EDC Managing Editor

When Montana Knife Company, founded by ABS Master Bladesmith Josh Smith, first reached out to me, the company and its products were admittedly outside of my regular EDC wheelhouse. They were a passionate organization, specializing in exceptional, American-made tools for hunting and the outdoors, and as an urban-dwelling, desk-diving EDCer, I felt a little out of my depth in those waters. But they graciously sent me their latest and most compact blade to try, and this little knife was an instant eureka moment, one with just the right set of features and boundless quality that helps bridge the gap between my neck of the EDC woods and MKC’s usual customers.

Belying its diminutive specs, the Mini-Speedgoat is loaded with features and fine details. It’s an ultra-light, double-tempered, and cryogenically treated (not to mention handsomely polished) fixed blade measuring 6.5″ with a 3″ edge made with CPM MagnaCut that weighs just an ounce even with its 7+ feet of paracord handle wrapping. MagnaCut being the supersteel that it is gives the Mini-Speedgoat the holy trinity of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance even while whittled down to an almost ridiculously thin 0.095″ blade thickness. Needless to say, it lets the Mini-Speedgoat be an exceptionally slicey blade, with its edge thinness even contributing to ease of resharpening when needed. A super pointy and slicey 3″ MagnaCut blade on a lightweight platform is already a winning combination, but beyond that, the usability and ownership satisfaction of the Mini-Speedgoat is hard to beat.

The unboxing experience by itself is already quite notable. Opening the Montana Knife Co. box reveals a hand-wrapped and bow-tied (with paracord, no less) package containing the Mini-Speedgoat in its custom Kydex sheath, with a feature card, signed QA certificate, sticker, and spare hardware, which includes two types of clip attachments for the sheath. I quickly swapped out the belt clip for the lower profile pocket clip when I took it out for a test drive during a weekend at the beach. While my uses were limited to a bit of foraging by the water, processing some sticks for a small fire, and opening snacks back in my room, the drastic size and weight made the Mini-Speedgoat even more convenient than some of my lightweight folders, which is pretty remarkable for any fixed blade to accomplish.

I was firmly in my honeymoon period with the Mini-Speedgoat early on in the weekend, but the feeling quickly went way when using the knife for the first few times and realizing that MagnaCut really is all that. Add in MKC’s Generations Promise which gives you free sharpening (even reshaping), cleaning, maintenance, and repair for the lifetime of your knife and beyond, and it’s hard to ignore how much value you get from any of the brand’s tools.

Speaking of the rest of MKC’s tools, I’m already looking ahead to trying out more from them. The larger knives, many of them in MagnaCut, and even a hatchet is now on my wish list. And while a number of knives maintain steady stock, the Mini-Speedgoat’s popularity means that it’s one of MKC’s best sellers, and often run out until the regularly scheduled drops. Keep an eye out on Montana Knife Company’s site and socials so you can prepare to snag one (or more) for yourself.

Even in my early days of exploring the world of EDC-friendly fixies, the Mini-Speedgoat has already shown me the untapped potential and creativity in the space. I’m looking forward to what’s next from Montana Knife Company, and can’t wait to get my hands on more of their tools.

The Nitecore EDC25 Delivers Flatout Brilliance for Seamless Pocket Carry

We have a soft spot in our hearts for the Nitecore EDC27—so much so that we awarded it the best EDC flashlight at SHOT Show 2023. Its successor, the newly released EDC25, is an upgrade in many ways. The Nitecore EDC25 boasts 3,000 lumens of maximum output with a beam throw that reaches up to 328 yards thanks to its new NiteLab UHi 20 LEDs. Designed with practicality in mind, the EDC25 flaunts the familiar flat shape from the EDC27 that allows for seamless pocket carry, ensuring you have powerful lighting at your fingertips without the bulk. Weighing in at just 3.67 oz and only 0.54” thick, it’s a highly pocketable light you can easily carry around. It also has customizable brightness levels and rapid access to Turbo and Strobe modes between its two-button tail switches.

Several features set the Nitecore EDC25 apart from its predecessor. It forgoes the digital display for more straightforward light indicators. It also offers extended hours of continuous use—up to 55 hours on a single charge through USB-C. This, combined with its superior throw distance, lighter frame, and more affordable price point of $74.95, makes the EDC25 a worthy follow-up to an already great light.

No Tricks Here: Vosteed’s New Psyop Is Their Best Premium Offering Yet

Vosteed has made a name for themselves making some of our favorite knives that won’t break the bank, but to our delight and excitement, every so often they decide to flex their manufacturing process and produce some truly next-level knives. We’ve seen it before with the RSKAOS and the Thunderbird, and this time, a partnership with Geoff Blauvelt a.k.a. TuffKnives has unleashed the Psyop on the market (and straight into our pockets).

Every inch the sleek slicer, the Psyop comes in four configurations, each with a standard kit of a 3.32″, highly corrosion-resistant Elmax blade in a flat-ground drop point that secures into a black or gray titanium handle with a top liner lock. You have a choice of a more rounded, stonewashed finish for the handle, or a slimmer, flat handle CNC-milled with a diamond pattern for better purchase. Like most Vosteed knives, the Psyop comes with a fantastic fidget factor out of the box, and you can flick away with its front flipper or thumb hole deployment.

The Psyop isn’t just a sleek pile of specs, though. Vosteed and TuffKnives have crafted subtle details into the knife that elevate its every aspect. Its front flipper locks into place as one clean line from the handle, and flies out on ceramic ball bearings. The handle features a flush pivot screw with an accent pivot collar, and while the 3D-milled titanium pocket clip isn’t reversible, it’s affixed with hidden screws to not break up any part of the design unnecessarily. And while this limits pocket carry options for lefties, the top liner lock is still plenty usable from either hand.

The Psyop is another winner in our books for Vosteed, and joins the ranks of the brand’s higher-end offerings for those looking to add a premium option to their pockets. With two successful collaborations so far with R.S. Knifeworks and TuffKnives, the future is bright for their future partnerships—with a particularly exciting one on the horizon with someone whose name rhymes with raccoon ego.

Huckberry X Danner Slides Get a Rugged Makeover With Exclusive Camo

In an exclusive collaboration with Danner, our friends at outdoor lifestyle brand Huckberry have released a redesigned, post-adventure comfort essential, the Huckberry x Danner Shelter Cove Slide, marking their first-ever non-boot collaboration. This unique creation combines Danner’s legendary craftsmanship with Huckberry’s clever and innovative design, delivering a recovery slide that offers superior comfort, traction, durability, and most importantly, a cooler option for these warmer days.

The Huckberry x Danner Shelter Cove Slide features a unique duck camo colorway (previously exclusive to Japan), bringing a new outlook and setting it apart from conventional designs. The Shelter Cove Slide is also equipped with a Vibram Megagrip outsole typically seen on hiking boots and well-known for its superior, all-conditions traction.

This feature makes the Shelter Cove slide appear extremely overbuilt for a recovery slide, but it’s perfectly balanced out by a dual-strap design that allows for natural forefoot flex, a plush EVA midsole, and contoured footbed for cloud-like comfort and anatomically correct support, offering relief after a long day on your feet.

Leatherman’s Skeletool CX and KB Get a Colorful Upgrade

The Skeletool CX has long been a favorite recommendation of ours for those looking for a pliers-based multi-tool but want to save a bit more space and bulk from Leatherman’s more feature-packed offerings. Even with full-sized pliers, a proven 154CM blade, and a bit driver to cover all your bases, it still weighs a comfortable 5 oz thanks to its namesake skeletonized frame, which you can conveniently hang off of your gear with its built-in carabiner.

If you want to save on space even more or want to pack light for the day with just an EDC knife, the Skeletool KB is a chip off the old block, and is the knife arm of the CX as an independent tool, with a locking 420HC blade and a bottle opener built into its clip.

Both tools are great for EDC and it’s the perfect time to add either to yours with the release of new colorways. The CX is now available in four new colors: Onyx, Nightshade, Verdant, and Paradise, and the KB knife is available in Nightshade, Verdant, and Paradise.

Victorinox’s New Dive Pro Exemplifies Underwater Precision Under Pressure

While primarily known for the iconic Swiss Army Knife, Victorinox has garnered the respect of watch enthusiasts around the world for their tough, no-frills tool watches. Vosteed Unveils the Heavy-Duty Hedgehog Knife

Compact folding knives are best for everyday carry because of their convenient size, but if you’re planning on taking on heavy-duty tasks with your daily driver you might want to carry something built stronger than the rest. That’s where sturdy knives with beefy spines like the new Hedgehog from the makers over at Vosteed come in handy. To get the most durability out of the 2.99” S35VN stainless steel blade on the Hedgehog, Vosteed fashioned it into a modified sheepsfoot utility shape with a markedly substantial spine that gives the knife more inherent strength when you’re chopping and cutting through rough material. Combined with the secure liner lock on the blade, you have a reliable folding knife that’s well-suited for heavy-duty everyday carry tasks.

That liner lock is also a unique aspect of the Vosteed Hedgehog folding knife. Unlike a traditional liner lock that required you to twist the blade and manipulate the steel liner, Vosteed integrated a tab built directly into the steel liner that protrudes through a small slit in the grippy blue GT-Mascus handle scales. This lets you operate the lock with a single hand, as if it was a button-style lock knife. That’s the kind of quality of life improvement that you might think is small, but you’ll come to really appreciate it once you get to work with the Vosteed Hedgehog folding knife in your hands.

Whether you’re a seasoned EDC enthusiast or just getting started, these new releases are sure to reshape the way you carry and use your essentials.

Big Idea Design’s Ultem Pen Elevates Everyday Writing

A pen that writes well is best for everyday carry. But a pen that also looks great at the same time is a bonus. That’s why the new American-made and machined Ultem and titanium clip pen from Big Idea Design is a great candidate to be your next pocket daily driver. The hot translucent yellow from the US-made Ultem polyetherimide is becoming ubiquitous in everyday carry gear, but it’s not just for show. Using it in a fountain pen allows you to visualize the amount of ink you have left to work with, and it cuts a unique look in your hand compared to a basic clear plastic demonstrator pen you might find elsewhere.

And even if you’re new to fountain pens, the Big Idea Design Utem is a great place to start. That’s because the Kaweco nib on the pen writes very smoothly, with a fine line thickness that doesn’t feel as scratchy as other entry-level pens. And when comparing it to the feel of a cheap ballpoint, there’s no competition. Using the Kaweco nib also opens the wide world of swapping out nibs to the exact thickness that works for you because Kaweco sells those nibs in various sizes. The pen also comes with six Kaweco pearl black standard ink cartridges, and the more adventurous enthusiasts may attempt to fill the entire inner body of the pen with ink with a bit of silicone sealant to make for a tighter seal.

Luminox 3500 Masters Time with Military Precision

“All In All The Time” is one of the key mantras of the Navy SEALs, and Luminox celebrates this testament to unwavering commitment and resilience with the Navy SEAL 3500 “All In All The Time” watch. Crafted with a 45mm CARBONOX case and uni-directional bezel, this limited-edition timepiece combines lightweight carbon fiber with a robust construction to offer unparalleled durability. The watch’s face proudly bears the SEALs’ mantra, “All In All The Time,” embossed in gold color from 7-11 hours, a daily reminder to embody their relentless spirit. The gold-tone Navy SEAL trident logo on the case back juxtaposes the black-out design, creating an aesthetic of bold contrasts.

Thanks to its integrated Luminox Light Technology, the Luminox Navy SEAL 3500 shines continuously, ensuring 24/7 visibility in all conditions for up to 25 years. It’s powered by a Swiss Ronda 515 quartz movement that boasts a 50-month battery life and can withstand depths up to 200 meters. Its sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures minimal scratches through any adventure. With only 775 pieces available globally, this timepiece is as exclusive as it is inspiring.

Vosteed’s Ankylo Knife Innovates at the Push of a Button

Vosteed is one of the most respected brands in the knife industry, so we’re all ears when they launch a Kickstarter campaign for a new knife. The Ankylo Knife by Vosteed was created by asking their customers what they wanted in a knife: a pivot that doubles as a button, a new lock mechanism, a comfortable design, a secure lock-up, and it has to be fun to use. The Ankylo delivers all that and more.

The Ankylo’s 3.18” Böhler Elmax reverse tanto blade is a workhorse. Elmax steel combines excellent edge retention, high wear resistance, good corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. The handle of the Ankylo is constructed from 6061 aerospace-grade aluminum, ensuring the ultimate weight-to-strength ratio. Every corner is double CNC chamfered, and the handle boasts a hard-coated matte finish with a machined texturized pattern for secure control even in adverse conditions.

What truly sets the Ankylo apart is its new and innovative V-anchor lock. A N52 neodymium cylindrical magnetic connector is discreetly inserted within the lock shaft. This ingenious design ensures that the lock button remains recessed even when the blade is closed, enhancing safety. In conjunction with the thick lock plate, the connector creates an integral fail-safe system. Whether the lock is engaged or not, there are always contacts among the three parts, providing stability and reinforcing the lock mechanism.

There are still a few days until the Kickstarter ends for an Ankylo in your choice of color, so be sure to check it out; standard disclaimer for being aware of how Kickstarter and crowdfunding work.

GORUCK’s GR1 Upgrades Offer Less Weight and More Utility

The GORUCK GR1 has reached a venerable spot in the everyday carry loadouts of enthusiasts everywhere, and one of the key reasons is the bombproof 1000D ballistic nylon construction of their original design. The use of high-denier fabric helps the bag resist damage from scratches and abrasion, and it provides inherent water resistance, thanks to the strength and density of the weaving. However, one significant downside is the overall weight of the bag, which can be too much for some users who are thinking about picking one up for their loadout. Users have also noticed that the abrasive ballistic nylon can rub and wear against softer clothing over time because everyday clothing isn’t built to the same bombproof specifications. Another much-requested quality-of-life upgrade seen in GORUCK’s more recent models is a quick-access top pocket that makes it extra useful during travel and has become a staple in modern daypacks or weekender backpacks.

To address this situation, GORUCK has made its first significant updates to its original GR1 design. The new GR1 now includes 210D CORDURA in the back panel and shoulder strap area, making for a better quality-of-life experience with the bag without compromising the reliability and durability of the overall pack. It makes for a more plush feel in your hands that does less damage to your clothes simultaneously. Plus, GORUCK has already tested the material swap in other parts of their line, and in our experience, it has resulted in much more enjoyable EDC packs. Each new GR1 from GORUCK is made in the USA, and while the new quick access pocket is limited to the Black and Ranger Green 21L, other colors and sizes are available with the 210D backing upgrade. We’ll watch for and report when the 210D and quick access pocket upgrades become standard additions to all future packs.

LOOP GEAR’s SK03 Pro Unleashes the Power of the Dark Side

We were highly impressed with LOOP GEAR’s SK03 compact light when we previewed it while it was on Kickstarter, and the Pro version adds even more functionality while retaining the same fit-in-your-palm, AA-sized form factor and dimensions. This aluminum version weighs a mere 65g (2.3oz) even with the battery, sporting an all-black aesthetic that LOOP GEAR aptly calls “Darth Vader.” Bright side LEDs make it easy to find in dark environments, while illumination is still handled by the same impressive 6500K Philip LED emitter that produces a max of 1,000 lumens.

Unique to the SK03 Pro is its special multi-functional bracket with a magnetic base that can be attached to metallic surfaces. This allows you to angle the light for hands-free use. The bracket also features a retractable stainless steel blade/bottle opener, providing even more utility. The SK03 Pro comes with a 14500 Li-ion battery with a built-in USB-C port for direct charging into the cell, removing the need for a separate external charger.

In this roundup, find sweet deals from We Knives Co. and a lineup of thrilling new EDC releases from Big Idea Designs, Acebeam, Mystery Ranch and Huckberry.

WE Knife Co. Celebrates 10 Years with Limited Edition Releases and Huge Sale

It’s been 10 years since WE Knife Co. entered the scene (and 24 years since its founding in 2000), showing the world that they could stand toe to toe with the very best knife manufacturers, and this year they’re celebrating the milestone with re-releases of their iconic knives, as well as a massive sale and commemorative promotion for many of their CIVIVI knives.

The two knives leading the anniversary are the CIVIVI Elementum in a special Jungle Wear Fat Carbon Fiber colorway built just for the anniversary, and the 601X, a re-engineering of one their early and popular models, the 601. Both are dressed in premium iterations, with the Elementum packing S35VN for its blade and the 601X with 20CV across four titanium-handled colorways. Each of the 601X models is limited to 150 pieces and comes with a custom serial number and certificate of authenticity, so these surely will be the first to go.

There’s also plenty to see in the CIVIVI sale, with up to 51% off across a ton of models like the Conspirator, Sentinel Strike, Synergy3, and the Voltaic.

The 10th Anniversary event is ongoing on both WE and CIVIVI websites (where you can claim promotions like a giveaway, commemorative shirt, and coin), and other partnered retailers like Amazon, and runs through to April 18th.

Big Idea Designs Unveil Their Very First Fixed Blade Knife The “The Lookout”

Big Idea Design has stepped into new territory with their very first fixed blade knife, the Lookout. As their 47th Kickstarter project, this little gem packs a punch in a small package. This knife was named after the iconic Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN and was designed in collaboration with their CNC shop manager Mak Kelsay, ABS Journeyman Smith.

With a modest 2.2” blade and an overall length of 6.2”, the standard model is equipped with a M390 Steel Blade while the USA line features a MagnaCut Steel blade. The Grade 5 Titanium scales offer both durability and style, with options like Ultem, Tigerwood, or Black G10 to suit your taste. What’s truly impressive about this new drop is the attention to detail, from the custom-made lanyard screw to the center-mounted clip, providing a comfortable and secure carry experience. And let’s not forget the added flexibility of two included Kydex sheaths, allowing you to customize your carry setup. For Big Idea Design fans and knife enthusiasts alike, the Lookout Fixed Blade Knife is a must-have addition to any collection.

AceBeam’s Terminator M2-X Illuminates the Dark With Its Lumen Output, Long Throw Distance, and Multi-Functional Modes

With modern everyday carry flashlights, you don’t have to be limited to a regular light’s traditional cylindrical design and single-head emitter output. Take the new AceBeam Terminator M2-X torch, for example. It takes its design cues from what you might find on a tactical weapon light customarily mounted on a rifle and shrinks that power and unique versatility into a more compact package that fits your hand. The flat design of the AceBeam Terminator M2-X is thanks to its standout feature: the multi-source design, which gives you a combination spotlight, floodlight, and auxiliary light in one pocketable body, all without having to carry multiple lights to get the job done. While the AceBeam might lack the infrared (IR) illuminator or the laser designator, it maximizes its footprint to give you a rich feature set even if you consider yourself as decidedly non-tactical.

If you look down the barrel of the flashlight with the power turned off for safety, you’ll see the advantage of the multi-source design. On one side of the flat-bodied light is the flood light, which comes out to a max of 3200 lumens out the front with the Cool White 6500K version of the light. The high-CRI edition knocks it down for 2000 lumens but retains better rendering of colors, especially at a distance for quick identification. The RGB auxiliary lights are on the periphery of the floodlight section, which gives you additional color options. Handy is the red light, which is better for low-light situations if you don’t wish to ruin your night adaptation. On the other side is the spotlight, which throws the light out farther, up to 500 meters. Each of these functions usually features om individual flashlights, but the draw of the AceBeam M2-X is being able to pack just one device for your loadout, and it strikes a unique path in the pocketable everyday carry flashlight space that deserves some consideration.

Mystery Ranch’s Radix Packs Set the Standard for Lightweight Stability

Lightweight bags have recently become more popular for everyday carry, but the ones available today tend to be unstructured when they are not filled to the brim with gear. Bags like the updated Radix line from Mystery Ranch buck that trend by combining lightweight technical materials with a structured frame that holds the bag’s shape regardless of the load carried inside. The new Radix series from Mystery Ranch was made for people who climb up mountains and cliffs regularly, but the need for lightweight and stable packs can benefit anyone who opts for a quality bag or pack for their own everyday carry missions. The Radix series from Mystery Ranch comes in three different capacities, but for everyday carry use, we will focus on the 31 liter version of the bag.

Its two key features are the lightweight 100D Robic recycled ripstop n
ylon fabric shell and the removable aerospace aluminum frame that helps this hiking and climbing bag hold its shape. It has a top flap buckled construction with an off-center main zipper for accessing the main compartment for your carry convenience. The bag features hydration bladder compatibility, but unlike Mystery Ranch’s dedicated urban everyday carry bags, there is minimal padding in this pack. Lightweight movement and freedom, as well as harness comfort, were at the top of the list of Mystery Ranch’s crafters when they made the Radix line, and that unique approach can make them great for everyday carry even if you don’t climb up big rocks regularly.

Danner’s Moc 917 with GORE-TEX, a Huckberry Exclusive

It’s easy to focus on what’s in your pockets or your pack when it comes to everyday carry, but having the right shoes for your travels both near and far is a critical component often overlooked. As someone who’s overlooked having comfortable shoes in the past, it’s better to discover the benefits of having great shoes before you discover the painful aftermath of having the wrong ones on your feet after a long hike. One of the most comfortable shoes you can buy is based on the venerable Moccasin pattern, and Danner has teamed up with our friends at Huckberry to provide a modern interpretation of this comfortable shoe with modern touches that make it an excellent choice for daily wear.

The original water moccasin was woven from tanned leather skins by Native Americans in what is now the United States. Danner has a rich history dating back decades, taking that woven design that offers comfort in the front toe box and turning it into a working boot. In its latest incarnation in collaboration with Huckberry, Danner has updated their Moc 917 from the 1960s with a mix of leather and GORE-TEX liner to provide excellent waterproofing while keeping a heritage look. And where old moccasins had a smooth leather sole, Danner’s new Moc 917 comes with a lightweight Vibram SPE sole for added grip on wet and slippery surfaces. With a 365-day warranty and eligibility for Danner’s recrafting services, you can rely on this boot for all your travels in the years to come.
