I’ve carried one for years, and while it’s true that a phone can sometimes do the same job, LED keychain flashlights offer more brightness and a more compact body than a phone. But that compact size usually comes with runtime, brightness, and ergonomic tradeoffs. Unlike a full-sized LED flashlight, there’s less space to place all those useful features. 27 years is a long time to still be part of the conversation when it comes to EDC gear, but since its launch in 1996, the Leatherman Micra has done exactly that.
